Section 149
Do not encroach on natural resources
(1) No one shall trespass or occupy natural resources in any way except in accordance with law or distribute such resources or cause loss, damage or damage in any way to its natural structure or beauty. Explanation: For the purpose of this section, "natural resources" shall mean the following resources:-
(a) National parks, wildlife or hunting reserves designated by the Government of Nepal for the protection of the natural environment, flora and fauna,
(b) Protected area designated by the Government of Nepal, river, canal, stream, lake bed, border area or natural waterfall, snow peak or any part thereof, high mountain peak,
(c) Wildlife, flora and fauna protected by prevailing laws or the Nepal government, state government or local level,
(d) Herbs prohibited for sale, distribution, export or import of wild animals protected by Nepal Government, State Government or local level.
(2) A person who commits or commits an offense under sub-section (1) shall be punished with imprisonment for up to ten years and a fine of up to ten lakh rupees in case of breach of contract and a fine of Rs.
